Elite’s post and mastering teams use BATON to automate QC in file-based workflows, checking content for conformance, metadata and various audio-video quality issues.

Interra elite

Elite Media Technologies, located just north of Los Angeles, specialises in a full range of post production services from finishing, to distribution and delivery across streaming and broadcast platforms. Their post team performs SDR and HDR grading in all resolutions, colour spaces/gamuts and formats, and on the distribution side, Elite handles secure digital delivery of content for VOD, SVOD and OTT platforms.

“We carry out comprehensive master-level and foreign audio quality control services, along with SDR and HDR mastering, IMF and DCP creation, as well as picture and sound restoration,” said Nick Mairose, president and CEO of Elite Media Technologies. “Our mission is to create high-quality media experiences for clients worldwide. In line with our goal to maintain high standards in content transformation and delivery, we chose Interra’s BATON file-based QC software for its audio and video analysis, scalable architecture and features.”

Compliance and Consistency

Elite’s teams use BATON to automate QC processes for media files, assuring their clients of compliance and consistency across formats through regulatory checks such as HDR, slates, blockiness, DPP, IMF, PSE, violence and others. Centralised monitoring and automated QC solutions have become an essential part of file-based workflows, able to check content for conformance, metadata and different kinds of audio-video quality issues.

An advantage of using BATON is its detailed QC reports that can be quickly interpreted within the workflow, allowing a quick response without intervention. Overall, media output quality is higher and production processes are faster, reducing costs and ensuring compliance with technical standards.

Hybrid Broadcast Workflow

BATON integrates automated and manual audio-video QC checks, creating an efficient, hybrid broadcast workflow that aligns with the QC policy used across the organisation. Combining the two approaches means that QC is comprehensive for each piece of content. When BATON's fast, reliable auto QC process is coupled with a manual review process on random and/or erroneous digitized content, the team is more productive and results are improved.

Over time, Elite will be able to use the software’s scalable architecture to expand their BATON configuration as their audio-video QC requirements grow. Also, even in the event of hardware failures, BATON’s robust, high-availability feature guarantees business continuity by keeping operations running smoothly without interruption.

BATON typically supports a wide range of audio, video, image, container and subtitle file formats. Among video formats are DPX, HEVC, ProRes and Dolby Vision, with MXF, AVI and MPEG-2 Transport containers.

Standards-based Quality

“For more than 15 years, Elite Media Technologies has specialized in creating high-quality content for global distribution across multiple languages and formats,” said Ashish Basu, executive vice president of global sales and business development at Interra Systems. He noted that, as a respected company within their industry, Elite Media Technologies’ focus on quality and adhering to standards makes its adoption of BATON for file-based QC significant for Interra.

Ashish said, “We continue to invest in research and development based on customers’ workflow challenges. In addition to checking the quality of SDR and HDR content, BATON can support Elite Media Technologies in delivering content to its VOD, SVOD and OTT distribution clients.”

At the 2026 NAB Show in April in Las Vegas, Interra Systems will show the most recent version of its BATON platform, along with its complete suite of QC, monitoring and analyzing tools - including ORION for real-time monitoring and VEGA Media Analyzer for deep technical analysis and debugging. www.interrasystems.com
