Synamedia and Telxius, a Spanish connectivity infrastructure provider owned by Telefónica, are working together to enable content providers to adopt a flexible, scalable, multi-CDN strategy. With the Telxius carrier-grade CDN now integrated into Synamedia's multi-CDN management platform Quortex Switch, content providers can switch directly between CDNs.

This means that, by using the Quortex Switch platform, providers can apply content steering to smoothly switch viewers between CDNs based on Quality of Experience (QoE) and cost, expanding their coverage to reach and target new audiences.

With strategic PoPs worldwide, Telxius' is a recognised IP transit provider for many mainstream ISPs, reaching millions of users around the world. Its carrier-grade CDN is directly integrated into its Tier 1 IP high-capacity backbone and submarine cable systems, resulting in high performance, reliability and security. This integrated strategy with Synamedia stands out by enabling end-to-end control of traffic delivery and rapid infrastructure scaling, and also makes the entire CDN deployment more cost-efficient.

Launched in March 2025, Quortex Switch is a SaaS-based tool used to design and manage multi-CDN systems that support high quality streaming and disaster recovery. Based on up to date content steering industry standards, it avoids traditional client dependencies, resulting in straightforward deployment without modifying any players or apps.

Unlike legacy CDN selectors tied to static rules or SDK integrations, Quortex Switch optimises traffic dynamically, based on real-time QoE, network conditions and cost. It delivers true mid-stream switching, leaving viewing experiences uninterrupted. Open-standard APIs are available to rapidly onboard new CDNs, giving partners such as Telxius agility, resilience and efficient delivery at scale.

Mónica Martínez, Telxius CMO, remarked, "Our carrier-grade CDN takes advantage of our extensive global infrastructure to deliver superior performance, reliability and security. Now, by adding Quortex Switch, our content provider using our infrastructure will be able to upgrade their streaming services and enhance the QoE for streaming viewers as well as end-to-end control."

Edward Allfrey, General Manager of Video Network, Synamedia, said, "Telxius already has a strong position and by choosing to partner with us to deploy Quortex Switch for its content provider customers, it is increasing the value of its offer and extending CDN reach to new markets."   www.synamedia.com
