AJA BRIDGE LIVE IP handles bi-directional SMPTE ST 2110 conversion to and from streaming IP video and audio codecs, simplifying broadcast, event production and streaming infrastructures.

AJA BRIDGE LIVE IP, launched at NAB 2026, handles bi-directional SMPTE ST 2110 conversion to and from streaming IP video and audio codecs. With flexible encoding, decoding and transcoding functionality in a compact 1RU device, BRIDGE LIVE IP simplifies the integration of compressed media into ST 2110 broadcast, live event production and streaming infrastructures.
BRIDGE LIVE IP transmits and receives up to four channels of UltraHDp60 or up to eight channels of 1080p60 HD. Built in collaboration with video compression specialists Comprimato, the device is intended specifically for 10/25GigE ST 2110 workflows. However it includes many of the core remote production, synchronous multi-channel video contribution, streaming and multi-bit rate/multi-format delivery capabilities of other AJA BRIDGE LIVE SDI-based models.
BRIDGE LIVE IP can play a role in diverse applications spanning live and remote production, multi-camera podcasts, security and surveillance, esports and OTT content delivery. Across these environments, it can transport nearly any type of IP video onto an ST 2110 network, including H.262, H.264, and H.265 – with MPEG-TS, HLS, RMTP, RTMPS and SRT formats.
NDI, JPEG XS and JPEG 2000 are supported through optional licenses. Bi-directional NDI-SMPTE ST 2110 conversion receives NDI and decodes to ST 2110, or encodes incoming ST 2110 sources as NDI. Users can also integrate remote NDI and non-NDI equipment via RTP/UDP/SRT and tap into the ST 2110 network for a conduit between CDNs and other delivery mechanisms.
Enabling secure, reliable multi-channel video backhaul over the public internet, BRIDGE LIVE IP serves as a cost-efficient alternative to satellite services, dedicated lines and fibre networks. It can also be used to simplify multi-camera streaming to content delivery networks (CDNs), or for encoding produced content for high-end IPTV and OTT distribution. HLS input and output allow delivery to a CDN or for consumption on viewing devices and software such as iOS, iPadOS and tvOS.
“As more productions invest in ST 2110, they need to be able to quickly move multiple media types into and out of their network infrastructures. BRIDGE LIVE IP answers this growing market demand, enabling high-end infrastructures to leverage compressed IP video while also scaling the delivery of uncompressed ST 2110 streams,” said AJA President Nick Rashby. “An enterprise-class device built to bring more flexibility into hybrid IP productions, BRIDGE LIVE IP is part of the modern broadcast systems evolution.” www.aja.com
