Carbonite HyperMax is a next-generation production switcher platform that brings together all the tools required for modern live production in one compact system. It is a hyperconverged solution that combines switching, routing, video and audio processing, multiviewer monitoring, and ultra-high-resolution compositing into a single platform. By integrating these traditionally separate functions, Carbonite HyperMax delivers a new standard of flexibility, scalability, and efficiency for broadcasters, content creators, and live event producers.

This unified approach simplifies infrastructure by reducing space, cabling, power, and maintenance requirements. For studios, outside broadcast trucks, and live venues, this translates directly into cost savings, higher efficiency, and an unmatched ability to adapt to today’s fast-changing production landscape. Instead of relying on multiple pieces of hardware, engineers and operators can use one system that scales seamlessly to meet their production needs.

At the core of Carbonite HyperMax is the Software Defined Production Engine (SDPE), a versatile processing blade that changes functionality through software. With a single license, advanced features such as MaxME, MaxMini, and MaxScene can be activated on any SDPE blade, allowing broadcasters to expand capability without additional hardware. A single chassis can support up to eight SDPE blades, scaling to as many as 56 MiniMEs or 288x288 I/O in an FR12 frame.

This processing power is managed through Ross Platform Manager (RPM), which centralizes configuration, license management, and role-based access. Productions can be reconfigured and deployed across rooms or remote locations through Rapid Deployment Force, enabling teams to allocate resources dynamically and ensure that each production has the required tools available when needed

Operators benefit from TouchDrive control panels and DashBoard software, offering intuitive, tactile workflows designed for fast-paced live production. This combination of responsive control and centralized management makes HyperMax both powerful and approachable for diverse production environments.

Carbonite HyperMax addresses real challenges across live, remote, and studio workflows. For outside broadcasts, it reduces rack space, power, and weight by consolidating critical functions into Ultrix FR5 and FR12 frames, supporting full 1080p and UHD 2160p60 productions in a smaller footprint. For studios, its dynamic licensing allows instant scaling between news, sports, and entertainment formats. For large-scale events, it enables seamless transitions between productions of different sizes and requirements using the same hardware.

Supporting formats from 720p to UHD 2160p60 and compatible with SMPTE 2110 and 2022-7 IP workflows, HyperMax is equally effective in hybrid or all-IP environments. By combining flexibility, centralized control, and hyperconverged design, Carbonite HyperMax stands as a complete production platform. It enhances the capture, switching, and delivery of live content and is a strong candidate for the Digital Media World Award in the Production category for its clear innovation in workflow efficiency and production performance.
