ACE-3901 – Redefining SDI/IP Processing Power
The ACE-3901 from Grass Valley is a groundbreaking FPGA-based platform that redefines how broadcasters bridge SDI and IP workflows. Purpose-built for the hybrid transition era, it delivers the industry’s highest density and most flexible edge processing solution—empowering media operations to scale effortlessly across HD, UHD, and fully IP-native infrastructures.
Innovating the Hybrid Broadcast Edge - With dual 100/200 GbE QSFP connections and software-defined functionality, the ACE-3901 brings next-generation performance to any environment. It transforms conventional SDI hardware into dynamic IP gateways and distributed compute nodes—offering future-ready agility without disrupting existing investments.
ACE-3901-IO – The Gateway to IP, this high-density conversion engine encapsulates or de-capsulates up to 64 SDIIP channels per card via SMPTE ST 2110, enabling a smooth migration to IP-based production. In a single 4 RU Densité 3+ FR4 frame, up to 384 gateways can be deployed—delivering market-leading efficiency in space, power, and cooling.
ACE-3901-GRID – Edge Computing Reinvented, it extends Grass Valley’s AMPP Grid architecture, connecting SDI and IP directly into a distributed compute fabric. A single 1 RU COTS server can now process 128 Grid signals, a 10x leap in capacity over traditional PCI-based solutions. This innovation eliminates routing bottlenecks and unlocks true scalability in live production.
Innovation Highlights:
World-leading density: 64 channels per card, 384 per frame
Software-defined flexibility: IO and GRID applications for hybrid or IP workflows
Edge processing revolution: 10x capacity gain on COTS hardware
Seamless interoperability: ST 2110, NMOS IS-04/05, and GV Orbit integration
With the ACE-3901, Grass Valley delivers a true breakthrough in hybrid media infrastructure—combining performance, scalability, and software agility to power the next generation of live production.
